CSNO-TARC & APSCO Successfully Co-organized the First“GNSS Monitoring & Assessment System” Training Sessions

On March 26th, Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) organized “GNSS Monitoring & Assessment System” training sessions — the first collaborative infrastructure project in the field of satellite navigation at Beijing headquarters. China, as the project leading country, organized this event together with APSCO. More than ten representatives from seven member states (Thailand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.) attended.
The training session lasted for three days.
Experts from Beihang University (Prof. Dongkai Yang), CSNO-ICC (Jun Shen, vice
director) and CSNO-TARC (Changjiang Geng, Zhichao Ma & Liang Chen, senior
engineer) were invited to deliver lectures from the following aspects: basic
principles of satellite navigation and positioning, the development of BDS, BDS
applications, iGMAS, BDS Enhancement and Satellite Based Augmentation System,
GPAK software for GNSS performance assessment.
Through
this event, each member state has received a deeper understanding about
satellite navigation and monitoring & assessment technology, which would be
the foundation for iGMA project cooperation in the future. Contents like the
establishment and development of BDS and iGMAS attracted wide attentions. Among
which, questions about the BDS operation status and development plan were
actively raised. Other countries like Turkey showed a great interest in joining
iGMAS and having cooperation in the future.
